Sunday Stealing - 1-22-12

Today we ripped off a blogger named Tense Teacher of the blog Tense for a Reason. (Yes we know that we've ripped her off not so long ago as well. It's pretty amazing since she stopped posting in 2007. But that's where we live as a thief). Also, it's long so we'll do it in parts. She does not say where she got it from. But, it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft's thieves might take some time.Take the time to comment on other player's posts. It's a great way to make new friends! Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!

36. Have you watched American Horror Story? No.

I know I am in the minority, but I just can't get into any movie about vampires or anything that is not real. Have no desire to see those movies.

37. Baseball hat or toque?

What is a toque???? In the summer I practically live in a baseball cap.

38. Do you shampoo or soap up first in the shower?
Shampoo

39. Wet the toothbrush or brush dry with the toothpaste?

Wet
40. Pen or pencil?
It depends, I like them both

41. Have you ever gambled at a casino?

Yes, I use to love to go and play the slots. I went about 6 times and won every time... When it comes to gambling I am cheap - I would always take only about $50 and I would bring home about $500-$600 each time. That is why I loved it! The last time I went, about 4 years ago, I lost about $60 and I have never been back.

42. Have you thrown up on a plane? NO.

43. Have you thrown up in a car? Kind of.

This was back in my college days... My best friend always tells this story - I guess she thinks it is funny. We were ending a night of partying and were at the White Castle drive through ... (I bet you know where I am going with this story... ) I was sitting in the shot gun seat and she was the driver. She starts placing the order and as soon as I heard that - I rolled down the window and hung my body outside the car and start puking.... It did not even phase my friend, she even asked for extra napkins :)

44. Have you thrown up at work?

Funny you should ask. Just last week. I either work in a Doctors office or Hospital. During the times when I was pregnant I had a hard time with bad body odors on patients.... or if I would hear the noise of a patient getting suctioned or a patient hacking up something - I would either puke or almost puke... I know I am not pregnant so I have no idea why I puked last week - the odor was just too much for me to handle I guess.

45. Do you scream on roller coasters?

No, I laugh - I laugh really hard :) Love roller coasters!

46. How many shoes do you have?

I use to have a lot more, each time I had a baby my foot went up 1 size. I had to get rid of a lot of shoes. Let me go and count - 15
47. Who was your first roommate?

A girl named Kelly. We were team mates at IU.

48. What alcoholic beverage did you drink when you got drunk for the first time?

Bartles and James - berry wine cooler. It wasn't until my freshmen year at IU ~
I was a good girl in high school. Just in case you are reading this - Thank You, Brent Talcott :) We were friends in high school and he came to one of my Volleyball games. After the game
he invited me to go out with him and some of his friends... He asked me what I liked to drink and I said, " I'll drink anything" . That was my first time to get drunk - I don't know if he even knew that. Anyway, he has always been a great guy and made sure I made it back to the dorm in one piece.

49. What was your first job?

My first job was a paper route that I had during the Blizzard of 1978. I think I quit after that winter.
50. What was your first car?

It was a 1983 Cutlas Cierra.

51. When did you go to your first funeral?

My Grandmas. I think I was about 5 or 6

52. How old were you when you first moved away from your hometown?

I officially moved away when I was 30. I really do miss it. When I was younger it was the best! When I moved away things started changing for the worse. People started moving into the town who did not want to take care of their property and also the crime rate started increasing. I wish it could have stayed the same - there are so many great people still living there and the town is nice and the location is so close to downtown and the airport. Speedway, Indiana - I do miss you.

53. Who was your first grade teacher?

My memory is gone. I can't think of her name. :(

54. Where did you go on your first airplane ride?

Disney World

55. When you snuck out of your house for the first time, who was it with?

Leann Webb. I was about 14 and it was the night before the Indy 500. I grew up about 3 blocks from the track. We left my house about midnight and walked down and around the track. Looking back ~ How stupid was I !!!! I would just die if one of my girls would do that. It is not the safest place in the world for any girl to be - especially at 14. I am sure my paybacks with my kids will be a major Bitch!

56. Who was your first best friend and are you still friends with them?

My first best friend was Marilyn Martin. I guess our friendship fizzled between 6th and 7th grade. It was a really stupid deal and we just quit talking. I recently reconnected with her thanks to facebook. We had a lot of good times growing up and I will always treasure those memories. I remember her always leaving for about 3 weeks every summer to go to Canada, I hated that, it seemed like such a long time to be without your best friend.

57. Where did you live the first time you moved out of your parents’ house?

Bloomington, Indiana

58. Who is the first person you call when you have a bad day?

I will talk to Jeff first and when he has heard enough I usually call Mom.

59. Whose wedding were you in the first time you were a bridesmaid or a groomsmen?

My best friend, Tammy.

60. What is the first thing you do in the morning?

Bathroom, Get coffee started, take Dog out, Girls breakfast , get dressed, My coffee and Cheerios, laptop for 10 minutes, get the girls dressed, out the door to drop off one at school and then work for me. That is the first hour of my day.

61. What was the first concert you attended?

Do I dare say..... Kenny and Dolly back in the late 70's

62. First tattoo or piercing?

Ears pierced in 6th grade and I was 21 when I got my first and only tattoo.

63. First celebrity crush?

Probably Bo Duke - The Dukes of Hazzard. John Schneider. My parents even took me to the State Fair to see him in concert. :)

Why do weekends always come and go so quickly, makes me sad.

Five Question Friday - 1-20-12

So glad it is Friday!!! TGIF

It has been a really long week for me. "It", was just not happening for me this week .... whatever "It" i s just decided to bypass Tammy this week and it sucked all of the fun and excitement that usually keeps me going with it. I am counting on this weekend to lift my spirits and to re-fill my Happy meter :)

Well I haven't done Five Question Friday since last June, YIKES! So here goes ....

1. Where do you hide the reeeally good snacks?

If it is really good it has to be chocolate and that would mean I might have a stash in my night table.

2. Do u keep your vehicle clean or am I the only one who has things falling out of their van?

Up until this year I always kept my Vehicle really clean. Just got busy and didn't keep up. I hate a dirty car!!!

3. Have you ever been to Vegas?

Yes, so much fun!

4. Warm room light blankets or cold room warm snuggly blanket?

Cold room with warm blankets for sure. Can't sleep if it is too warm.

5. What is the worst airplane/flying experience you've ever had?

I have not had too many bad experiences. I Love flying Southwest! One time I was flying solo into Orlando. I was going to meet friends in Orlando and then head to Daytona for the big race. Just about everybody on the flight was going to the race so I think they were trying to make the flight really fun. They did!
The flight attendants asked questions and the first person to hit their call button won a free drink :)

I guess the worst experience I had was flying to Hawaii. My only issue was the lady sitting behind me. She had to have weighed about 400 pounds, she took up 2 seats! Anyway, she had "that" smell, you know what I am talking about, if you can't see it or reach it how can you wash it! She was nothing but a pain in the butt to everyone on the flight. She had to get out of her seat about every 20 minutes and to do that she had to pull on the back of my chair to hoist her up ~ that made a long flight even longer :(

Everybody enjoy your weekend, Love and Happiness is a must this weekend :)

I'm Back

Yes, I know, I have been missing in action. I can't even begin to tell you what a rough and rocky road our family has been down. The last 6 months have been nothing but a roller coaster ride for us. Jeff has been fighting cancer, and I can't put in words just how proud I am of him and the way he has handle it. He has had several set backs but has pulled through like a champion!

The Chemo was terrible. It was always pure dread and anxiousness on both of us the night before he was treated. There is truth in the statement - "If the Cancer doesn't kill you the Cure will " There were many nights when I would put my hand on his chest or back just to see if he was still breathing. Yes, I was scared! The good news is that the Chemo is over! He is finishing up with his Radiation treatments now and things are looking up :) After the Radiation we will wait about 6 wks and he will have another PET scan and if that is good it will be a PET scan every 6 months. The cure rate for this type of cancer is very good but the chance of it returning will always be in the back of my mind. Right now we are starting to plan for the future and get back to Living Life!

We are not the only ones that have had to suffer during this time. The girls are young but they knew things were not "normal" in our house. They had to miss a lot of school and fun activities because of us always going to treatments and Doctor appointments. We will soon be trying to make some of that up to them with a trip to Disney :)

Last April I started a new job. I had not been there that long when Jeff was first diagnosed. When someone you love is sick you want to be there for them and with them. I was so stressed out! I really loved my job and didn't want to take the chance of losing it. I didn't even have to ask, the people I work with are the absolute best! I was able to go with Jeff to every treatment and to be with him when I needed to be. What a blessing to be surrounded by such caring and compassionate people.

Jeff has started back to work now and even though he is far from 100% I think it is doing him some mental goodness. He is starting to look better and feel better. I love seeing that :)

Happy 2012! I know it will be a great year :)
