Talking about my kids usually does the trick :)

Well, since I am one of the hip people, I will say that I Rock ;)

34. What was the last gift you bought someone?

Bought my Mom a card and a shirt for her birthday.

35. What was your favorite class in high school?

Art, PE, and Biology.

36. How many spouses would be about right?

Just 1, that is all I could handle.

37. What would you say was the most embarrassing moment of your life?

There have been many! I will narrow it down to 2. I was on my way with a friend to an IU Basketball game along time ago. It was about an hour away and with about 15 minutes to go I had to go to the bathroom BAD! He pulled over at a gas station and I ran inside. About 5 minutes later I came running out the door ( I am sure it looked as though I had robbed the place) I told him to GO!!! I had flushed the toilet and it overflowed Big time, I am not talking just a little water, It was pouring out and it was running out the bathroom door. So embarrassing!

The other time was more recent and we were at a Comedy Club with 2 other couples. Strangely, this also involves a bathroom??? Hmm, anyway, I had to go so I thought I knew where it was and I got up and walked clear to the other side of the room ( everybody was watching) and I walked right into the Kitchen. OMG I tried to play it cool but I was busted :-(

43. Did you ever consider becoming a teacher?

Yes. Several times. I don't think they are payed enough for what they have to do. I use to want to be a teacher and Volleyball coach but I don't think the system lets you discipline kids the way you need to and it is a hard job. I have gone on a couple of field trips and I can tell you that I had the worst headache at the end of those days because of all the noise, not for me.

44. Would you ever give a hitch-hiker a ride somewhere?

NO Way!

45. Would you ever try fasting for a whole week?

Willingly??? NO Way!

Happy Hump Day Ya'll

3 more days until the Weekend!!!!

It seems like the weeks just keep getting busier. I am really looking forward to this weekend because it will be the first one in a long time that I don't have to work either a Saturday or a Sunday. All we plan on doing is working outside and in the barn. The barn looks like it has been hit by a tornado and we have neglected the weed eating because of our busy schedule. We will still have Soccer on Saturday morning but after that there is a ton of work to do. (I actually enjoy working hard on the farm)

Last night we had a Soccer game and Soccer pictures. Also, we registered our youngest for her first year in Preschool. I know I am not ready for that!!! I am sure I will shed a few tears that day.

Wordless Wednesday

My 6 year olds legs - no need to call child protective services! She is just like me as a kid- clumsy!

23. When was the last time you got into a physical fight? (If NEVER, let us know about a time that you got close to a fight.)

The last time I was close to a fight or the thought to punch someone in the face crossed my mind was when some big fat lady got into my husbands business at the Zoo and started mouthing off at him. I knew he wasn't going to raise his hand to a woman but she was out of control and I was steaming mad. The kids were with us and she was cussing and I just got in front of her and gave her a look and she left. Now I hope I am not that scary looking but I am 5'10 with a few muscles left. Five Question Friday, 5-13-2011

1. Tube socks, calf socks, crew, ankle, none?

Always ankle, unless I am hiking and then it is the calf socks.

2. Was your childs (children's) name a mutual decision or was it a debate? If you don't have children, do you plan on giving your spouse a say, or do you have a name you MUST have, regardless if your other half likes it or not?!

Well, if we would have had boys the decision would have been really easy! We both liked Jacob, Jack and Jeremiah. Having girls made things more difficult when it came time to pick names. We did not agree! I loved the names Abigail and Emily or Emma. He liked Caroline and Rachel. I won the battle with our first- Abigail Rose. Then came girl #2. I know I should have given in but I honestly did not like the name Caroline. Then he came up with Rachel Olivia and I liked that. Then he came up with Kaitlyn which I LOVED ! Katy for short - I was so happy. The happiness was short lived, he changed his mind :( He wanted Caroline, and I didn't. I had a C-section but things were pretty rough for me - I was really sick and puking and Jeff was a huge help to me! I gave in. The name is slowly growing on me but I rarely call her Caroline, it is usually Wheezie :)

3. What is your favorite type of weather?

Fall I love spending time outside when the leaves are turning and falling. Love to go camping! It is always a great time for me.

4. If left to your own devices, what time would you wake up every day?

9am How perfect would that be :)

5. Have you bought your cemetery plots yet?

At one time I did. But then I moved and got my $ back. It is something we need to talk about. I hate talking about stuff like that!

Happy Mothers Day !

Happy Mothers Day Mom, I Love You !!!

Today, on Mothers Day, I am re-posting this from last year - it seems fitting. Happy Mothers Day to all of the Mean Moms of the World :)

Meanest Mom in the World

My Mom in High School

Me with Mom and Dad

MEANEST MOTHER IN THE WORLD

I had the meanest mother in the world. While other kids had candy for breakfast, I had to eat cereal, eggs and toast.

While other kids had cola and candy for lunch, I had a sandwich. As you can guess, my dinner was different from other kids' dinners, too.

My mother insisted on knowing where we were at all times. You'd think we were on a chain gang or something. She had to know who our friends were and what we were doing.

I am ashamed to admit it, but she actually had the nerve to break the child labor law. She made us work.

We had to wash dishes, make the beds and learn how to cook. That woman must have stayed awake nights thinking up things for us kids to do.

And she always insisted that we tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

By the time we were teenagers, she was much wiser and our life became even more unbearable. None of this tooting the car horn for us to come running; she embarrassed us to no end by insisting that the boys come to the door to get us.

I forgot to mention that most of our friends were allowed to date at the mature age of 12 and 13, but our old-fashioned mother refused to let us date until we were 15.

She really raised a bunch of squares. None of us was ever arrested for shoplifting or busted for dope. And who do we have to thank for this?

You're right, our Mean Mother.

I am trying to raise my children to stand a little straighter and taller and I am secretly tickled to pieces when my children call me mean. I thank God for giving me the meanest mother in the world.

Our country doesn't need a good five-cent cigar. It needs more mean mothers like mine.

Blessings on That Wonderful Woman.

When I was younger my mom would always cut things out of the paper for me to read, I use to hate that!!! This particular article, Meanest Mother In The World, was fea

tured by Ann Landers and my mom cut it out and had it on the Fridge because I refused to take the time to read it. Today I was thinking about that and found the article thanks to Google. I also remember Mom telling be about " paybacks and how they can be a B**** - " and one day when you have kids you will understand" No truer words were ever spoken ~ I remember when I was about five I took my wiffle ball bat and knocked all the petals off the tulips (about 100 tulips) - yesterday was one of many "paybacks" I will be enduring as a mother ... Caroline came to me with a bucket of tulips that she had yanked out of the ground.

Sometimes when I am with my Mom and the kids I can always tell what she is thinking and I know she is remembering all about those "Paybacks" You are the Best Mom!

Sunday Stealing 5/8/11

Sunday Stealing: The "You Can't Be Missed Meme" Part Uno

1. Which state do you consider to be the most boring state?
Kansas! Because of this flat, long and boring state it takes so much longer getting to Colorado.

2. If any chef from the Food Network (or any well known chef) could cater your wedding, who would it be?
This is an easy one for me, Gordon Ramsay! I know most of you would disagree but I just love him! Yes!

3. What's the last thing you ate that was red?

Red Pepper flakes on Pizza

4. Have you ever questioned the sexuality orientation of a close friend?

No
5. Everyone loses a friend after some big fight. Tell us about one.

I lost my first childhood friend when I was about 12 because of a really stupid fight that we had. We were best friends for years. She was spending the night at my house and it was the night before the Indy 500. We lived in Speedway. We had walked around by the track with my parents and they had bought us each a hat. Later that night we got into a huge fight because 1 of the hats had a chocolate stain on it, so we fought over who had the nice and clean hat. It was an ugly fight that ended with her Mom coming to pick her up. We ended up going our separate ways and never spoke again. We just recently reconnected on facebook after not speaking for at least 3o years. Marilyn, if you are reading this I am sorry.

6. Have you ever washed an iPod or mp3 player in the washing machine?

No. I have washed my cell phone and ruined it.

7. Have you ever screamed / yelled angrily at a boss?

Just once. I had already graduated from college and was working in the hospital full-time as an aide while going back to school. For the most part, the job was really crappy. Cleaning Patient rooms, feeding and transporting patients. There was this nurse, who was not even my boss, who had to do an evaluation on me. I read it over and refused to sign it because of one statement she made. Everything was good except one remark that she made. " Tammy needs to show more enthusiasm in her job" I was pissed! I said something like - I just graduated from college with a BS degree in Sports Science and minor in Psychology and you want me to be enthusiastic when I clean a toilet!

8. Have you ever cried yourself to sleep?

Yes

9. Have you ever regretted being in a relationship with someone?

Yes.

10. Have you ever acted like you understood something when you didn't have a clue?

All the time! :)

11. Have you ever thought someone must have been insane? If yes, tell us something about the person.

I have thought many to be insane! But I am not naming names.

12. Have you ever pretended to be younger than what you are?

I don't think so.

13. Back in the day, did you ever cry because you were turned down for a date?

Well I never did the asking. So that makes it easy,

14. Have you ever (or your significant other) had a pregnancy scare?

Yes, but only with my husband.

15. Have you ever pretended to like someone when you didn't?

Yes, and it wasn't a good thing.

Five Question Friday, 5-6-11

1. Have you ever had roommates?

Yes. I had roommates when I was a student at IU.

Now when I was younger I guess I went through a stage of not being very neat and tidy. My Mom was constantly getting on me about it and I guess she has just had enough. (I can relate to this now) Anyway, I think I was in 7th grade... I was walking home from school with some friends and what do I see...
Mom was mad because of my room and she had opened up my window, which was upstairs and tossed Everything -clothes- (including underwear!) and whatever else was on the floor out the window and down onto the rose bushes. I was mortified!

I guess that is why I am such a neat freak today :/
So when I first met my first roommate she was already in the dorm and was popping popcorn and it was going all over the floor- we were total opposites!

My best friend Tammy was my other roommate and that worked out
really well :)

2. How many names do you/your children have? (i.e. Prince Charming William Phillip Arthur Louis John JacobJingleheimer-Schmidt)

Just first middle and last. However we usually go by our nicknames - Woody, Wheezie, Whiskey, and Punky...

3. Did you watch the Royal Wedding?

Yes, and I loved every minute!

4. What is the messiest room in your house?

Hmm, that is hard because the answer changes daily. It would be either the Playroom, Kitchen, or Jeff's Office.

5. What is your ideal mothers day?

Sleeping in until I wake up on my own. Drinking my coffee without having to reheat it 3x because of interruptions, go out with the family and do a little shopping, eat out,
come home and relax - NO dishes, NO laundry!
