Five Question Friday, 3-11-11

1. Do you know what your REAL hair color is?

Yes, it is 1/2 and 1/2, 1/2 light brown and the other 1/2 - nasty, awful, yucky, can't believe I am old enough to have it Gray! Thank the Lord for hair color!!!!

2. Do you plan ahead for summer, or fly by the seat of your pants?

Both

This summer we are planning. We are taking the big trip to Disney with the girls for the first time and we will be celebrating birthdays so I am wanting everything to be perfect and magical for them. It will be a 2 wk. vacation, 1 wk in Disney (for the girls) 1 wk on Beach (for Jeff and I) Jeff is the fly by the seat of your pants kinda guy and I am the Planner.

3. What is your favorite meal to cook?

I love to cook!!! It is one of my favorite things to do. I love trying new recipes and I am addicted to the Food Network. I Love Holiday cooking - Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter dinner... I also love to have family or friends over for Themed dinners - Super Bowl (tailgating food), Sushi Night, Chinese Night, Mexican Night with Margaritas, Hmm It is 5'o clock somewhere, right?

4. Do you get offended by not receiving thank yous?

I use to before having kids. I was raised where when something, anything was given to you - you should sit down and write a Thank You note or at least call the person. Now that I have the kiddos I realize how hard it is to find time to do anything.

5. How did you meet your best friend?

I married my very best friend! But if we are talking girlfriends it is my friend Tammy. We met freshman year at college and 24 years later we are still best friends. Tammy and Tammy :) The first time I met her I was heading for the elevator in the dorm with a heavy basket of laundry piled high. She was standing close so I asked her if she could hit the down button for me ... I thought she was ignoring me because I asked her several times... I then said, "Are you deaf or something?" and did it myself. 1 week later I found mysel

f sitting in her room with some other girls and looked at her and noticed she was wearing a hearing aide!!! Needless to say I felt horrible! We bonded listening to her Mellencamp tapes. Yes tapes, this was right before the big CD explosion :) We have been best buds ever since. Love You Tammy and Happy Birthday!!!

This week I have really been struggling with the thought of having my youngest start Preschool in the fall.

She needs to stay home with her Mommy! Look at that face, she will get into so much trouble!

Because of her big sister being in school all day she has been attached to her Momma's hip, and this Momma is really enjoying all the special time I get to spend with her!

Who needs Preschool when you have Momma and Mickey Mouse :)

My Answers:1. You can't go wrong with potatoes, they taste good no matter how you cook them. I guess my favorite is Outbacks loaded Cheese Fries - Yum!

3. I will agree with Java, I Love the smell of Lilac! But, my all-time favorite smell is Mulled Cider. Love, Love, Love it! It reminds me of Fall, my favorite season.

4. No, I do not smoke. Maybe once every 3 or 4 years I will have one small cigar with Jeff if we are at a Nascar Race, but other than that I am anti-smoking.

5. My parents are still married, 55 years! I feel very lucky to have them as my parents, they are the best!

Oh Lord, wish I could have slept in longer today! I hate 12 hour shifts! I look so old! I wish I did not love chocolate so much, I am Fat! How come the girls are so messy when they brush their teeth, there is toothpaste all over the faucet and sink!

Dark! I think because of working night-shift for so many years I just prefer things to be dark, bright lights tend to hurt my eyes.

Sleeping! Had to get up at 5:30am today.

I have no idea, I live in a small town ... there is a place called the Cheddar Depot a few miles away from us.

I say the word Geez a lot ... is that even a word?? Actually it is Jeez - (used as a mild expression of surprise, disappointment,astonishment, etc.)

2. Where did you go on your very first date? (Like...first first, not first with your spouse or current significant other!)

On my first date when there were no parents involved, my date took me to eat at Dairy Queen and then we went to a Purdue University Volleyball game.

3. What's your "silly" fear? (We're not talking water and heights.)

Clowns and Bats!!! One year Jeff and I went to the State Fair and we were riding the tram around, on one of the stops about 30 clowns got on - I don't think I have ever had a panic attack but I was pretty close to it that day. Bats! Hate them!!! I have a fear of them getting caught in my hair.

4. Confrontation: do you cause it, deal with is as it comes, or run far far away?

I try to avoid it at all cost - but there are times when you just have to step up and deal with it to get it to go away. I think the older I get the less I worry about confrontation, but I do wish everyone could just get along! Wouldn't life be great if everyone was Happy Go Lucky :)

5. Wood floors or carpet?

I Love the look of wood floors, but I love the comfort of carpet.

We have a combination of both in our house.

The ABC's of ME

Well things are slowly getting back to normal in our house since Jeff's hospital stay. It was his first time ever in a hospital as a patient! It was my first time ever seeing him sick. It really did scare me! It just made me think about how short life is and to treasure every moment that God gives you.
